Huskies Men Enter Top 25 Rankings

Last week we noted that the Huskies had started receiving some Top 25 votes after going down to Portland and beating the nationally ranked Pilots. Admittedly, it was only 4 votes and there were plenty of other teams ahead of them in the ‘others receiving votes’ bundle.

And after another good week that saw the Huskies beat three opponents at home by a combined 5-0, the UW has been catapulted into the rankings themselves, making their debut at #23, sandwiched between San Diego State and Penn State. It’s the first time Washington has featured in the rankings since September of 2007.

But the Huskies’ upcoming matches are going to be a stern test for the team. As conference play begins this weekend, 3 of UW’s next 4 opponents are also nationally ranked, including #20 UCLA away, the aforementioned #22 San Diego State away, and #16 California at home.
